FAQs
Where are the products manufactured?
The Planetary Design range of products are designed in the United States but manufactured in China. In order to obtain the best possible price for the consumer manufacturing is done in China rather than in the United States. Planetary Design conducts regular site visits to their manufacturer in China to ensure not only the highest quality of production but to check on the safe and fair working conditions for employees there. From their working experience with China Planetary Design feels that it is by far the best manufacturing facility available there. Can we put them in the dishwasher?
All Planetary Design products (components as well as the body) are top shelf dishwasher safe.Do the French press cafetières work for tea as well?
Yes! Although the presses were originally designed for coffee they function just as readily as loose-leaf tea presses. They may not be so successful though for use with heavy green teas.Is there glass in the liner?
No! High quality stainless steel provides significantly better insulation than glass liners, it is obviously more durable than glass and won't retain old flavours from one brew to another. Planetary Design uses double-walled, 18/8 restaurant grade stainless steel giving a more modern and sophisticated look than glass. Stainless steel also allows the use of modern striking enamel colours. How long do they keep beverages hot?
The Planetary Design range of products have excellent heat retention capabilities. Coffee or other beverages should remain warm for at least 45 minutes and even longer. Can the lids be replaced if necessary ?
No problem! Just e-mail us at info@reallysensible.co.uk or phone 01873 851953 and we will be able to assist. You will find the replacement cost quite modest. What is the warranty on Planetary Design products?
Planetary Design warrant all of their products against manufacturer defect for the period of one year. You will need to go through the retailer from whom you purchased your cafetière or mug. They will require some proof of purchase and will then arrange with the Really Sensible Trading Company to obtain a replacement for you.French press cafetière coffee preparation Why French Press?
The French press cafetière method, or "plunger method" has, and continues to be, the standard by which coffee is judged simply because it is the most pure way of preparing coffee. The US patented plunger mechanism helps to control the grind by flaring out as it is pressed down helping to ensure that the coffee does not over extract. This allows you to easily custom brew the perfect cup of coffee.Unique Selling Points!
